You can turn on the printer that you want to use before the HP Print and Scan Doctor installation. How do I download HP Print and Scan Doctor? ![]() If you do not see your printer, then you can click on ‘My product is not listed’. You can choose your preferred printer by tapping on the selection. Multiple printers can be shown on the ‘Choose Your Product’ page. The Doctor will begin searching for your HP after you click ‘Start’. Your printer and PC can connect through a USB cable or wireless network connection. You can follow the instructions and then click on ‘Retry’. There will be a detailed description at the bottom of the user interface that tells you how to resolve the problem. If there is an error detected, then the HP Print and Scan Doctor will tell you which part of the process is causing the issue by marking the step in red with an ‘X’. You can perform a test scan to make sure that the devices are connected. Additionally, HP Doctor checks that the ‘Windows WIA Scan’, ‘HP Twain Scan’, ‘Registry’, and ‘HP Scan’ are functioning properly. There are similar stages examined for the scanner. If the printer does not display any disruptions, then you can print a test page to verify that the connection works. The system scans the ‘Recommended Updates’, ‘Print Spooler’, ‘Driver Check’, ‘Device Status’, ‘Device Manager’, ‘Device Online’, ‘Print Queue’, ‘Port Match’, and ‘Device Conflicts’ for the printer. A green checkmark will be next to the conditions that are okay, and a red ‘X’ will be beside the steps that triggered an error. ![]() There will be a list of points that the app will check. The application first examines the printer and then the scanner to fix issues. For antivirus use kaspersky antivirus 5.0 personal pro and i have no problems. The diagnostic tool searches for connected products, communicates with the selected device, identifies issues, and fixes problems. it is the weapon of choice if i have a system that has already been infected. they also make the antihacker firewall.įor firewall i recomend agnitium outpost firewall. It's easy to configure too but as with any firewall u got to know what u are doing.įor registry repair and others i use jv16 power tools. it a very powerfull tool and u can do harm as well as good to the system if u leave the predefined settings.įor defargging i use o&o defrag 8. it does a great job.įor security use firefox or opera instead of internet exploder. also a good addition is spybot search & destroy 1.4 wich is free. asahmpoo uninstaller platinum 2.0 is also very usefull. Symantec is bad for ur computer, it hogs ur computer badly and the antivirus and firewall are not so good. O&O again light and fast and hands down the best defrager( one process that you can kill if you like, it does not need to run )Īcronis is great for backup, but here is how to use it right, once you install it make a rescue CD and then you can uninstall acronis and just boot of the CD and backup from there, for best results with backups you need to do it before windows boots anyways Sygate again light and fast (has only one process) Nod is light and fast and IMO the best in av (has only 2 processes) Sygate pro (firewalls don't need updates, so save it ) when windows xp appered i noticed i had no use for it.Ģ. You list is missing some thing important, and this a good anti spyware, that would be spysweeper. SS is the only one that is good out there, the rest of them don't pickup everything ss gets and it has no false positives, spybot and adaware are a joke next to it and so are all the other anti spyware. Which BTW allt he apps I have listed are shareware (cost money) I'm telling you all this after extensive testing, I have my own freeware website and all I do all day is test software, and I do test shareware also. Hey, what do you know? I'm sick of SystemWorks too.
